Compensation.

Martin Mesecke, CFP (R) is a Registered Financial Advisor with The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) which is the largest organization of "fee-only" advisors.  "Fee-only" financial planners are compensated solely by fees from their clients and do not accept commissions or compensation from any other source.  Fee-only financial planners believe there is a significant conflict of interest if an advisor stands to gain financially from the purchase of any product he or she recommends to the client.

The advantages of working with Self Worth Financial Planning includes:

  • We will be your financial coach and provide complete recommendations and implementation services.  We understand that you are busy and need a qualified and competent professional to help you manage the myriad of financial issues you face.
  • Objective recommendations: By not accepting commissions and charging on a fee-only basis, we believe that conflicts of interest are greatly eliminated.
  • We will be there to help you stay on track to achieve your dreams and help you maintain a steady and disciplined investment process throughout the various market cycles.
  • Tax deductibility:  Fees charged by a fee-only firm may be deductible to the client.  Please consult your tax advisor.

Investment Management Fees.

For investment advice, Self Worth Financial Planning no-load mutual funds, Exchange Traded Funds, Privately Managed Accounts, and institutional quality index funds to provide the investments you need to reach your goals, while keeping your investment expenses low.  We believe that the proper diversification and asset allocation are paramount to achieving a successful investment experience.  Management fees are charged on a retainer basis and are calculated as a percentage of assets under management.

Financial Planning Service Fees

Financial planning is provided on an hourly/project basis and is based on the complexity of each situation.  We find that every situation is different.   Financial planning fees can range from $400 for a one-time employee stock options analysis upwards to $3,200 or more for the more complicated and complex projects.  The exact planning fee is determined during or shortly after our initial meeting.

For clients that have us manage their investments and have accounts greater than $500,000, after the first year, typically there are no additional financial planning fees as the financial planning fees are thereafter included in the investment management fee.  This ensures that you will receive ongoing financial planning advice and updates as your life and circumstances change.
